Huntley Variations on (mostly) Ice Theme

I enjoyed seeing your posts and the different ways we saw what was there - birds, water, sky, trees and some of the season's first ice on the shadier side. I was fascinated by what turned out to be a sheer layer of clear ice perched a good inch above the water, outlined in luminous suspended drops.

Huntley Meadows: A new favorite

When the sun came out, then ice spotting, i was thrilled.  Not so with the brisk walk back in the pouring rain.

Huntley Meadow

Yesterday was interesting, especially when the sun peaked through the clouds. Here are some of my takes, though I am not sure they all work…

Carderock

Sorry we missed you, Jon!  We hiked the path along the Potomac until we found a "friend."  We took a few pictures of him and then decided to hike in a different direction!

Carderock

I was a half hour late and had no idea where where the three of you were — and it took another fifteen minutes before I found a trail! I walked Billy Goat Trail down to the river and back. This is what I got.

Wonderful Work

I have not spent as much time here on the blog as would be nice. The work from same places, and even same subjects show different senses of space, color, composition, distance, focus. Nice seeing.

I have been a laggard too at posting some of my shots,  as requested. Here are a few (too many), unprocessed, from Swamp Trail.
