In each of these photographs, I was trying to do something quite simple, although the images are busy and that may have overcome what I was trying to do. In the first, much like in one of Claire's photos, I wanted to make the red leaves pop against the background of quieter colors. In the second, I wanted the dark, cool, forbidding tones of the foreground to give way to the brighter and warmer tones in the sunlight downstream.

Difficult woods

I played with the wind a little but picked these 2 relative still pictures. The November woods reminds me of the April woods. While leaves ascend in the spring and descend in the fall deciduous woods become more luminous. Leaves reflect and transmit light and color.

I just learned a simple new blog trick you might want to try - emailing blog posts. I was already logged into the blog so I haven't discovered yet whether or not you have to have the blog open to email to the blog. I suspect not.
