Better late than never - photos from the cold Chain Bridge!

I had way too many activities vying for my time Thanksgiving week! Finally, I was able to sit down at my computer for a while...

A shot across the bridge, looking down river.
Jane and I were disappointed that there was no sidewalk on that side of the bridge.

The early morning sun really enhanced the colors.

Here the sun highlighted the bare trees.

I love the colors of these berries!

Down along the river.

I liked the contrast of the red oak leaves against the white trunk.
This was taken on the little bridge over Pimmit Run

An early November morning at Chain Bridge

Chain Bridge at dawn--mighty cold & windy

Now for something completely different

Taken with my IPhone using Hipstamatic, an app with a retro look and a square aspect, then edited with Snapseed, where I also added filters and frames

Winter's coming on!

Potomac Adventure

At dawn our band of photographers crossed Chain Bridge just in time to capture a glimpse of sunrise.

The last traces of fall before Thanksgiving...

I braced against the edge of the bridge to capture a few ducks resting and detached my camera. Suddenly my tripod took a high dive off the bridge on to the riverbank below...

The ducks slept through the excitement, as we scanned the shoreline.

We pressed on down toward the riverbank to discover more treasures to photograph.  A few hours later our intrepid photographer Jim recovered my tripod on the riverbank!

Winter at Chain Bridge

I happened to be crossing Chain Bridge the afternoon prior to our shoot, and saw the fog in the valley, so I parked and rushed back with a camera.  The first two photos look up, and then down, the river.  The traffic was fierce.  The morning of our shoot it was a lot colder with more wind.  This is my last post - thank you all for a stimulating class!
