Potomac Adventure

At dawn our band of photographers crossed Chain Bridge just in time to capture a glimpse of sunrise.

The last traces of fall before Thanksgiving...

I braced against the edge of the bridge to capture a few ducks resting and detached my camera. Suddenly my tripod took a high dive off the bridge on to the riverbank below...

The ducks slept through the excitement, as we scanned the shoreline.

We pressed on down toward the riverbank to discover more treasures to photograph.  A few hours later our intrepid photographer Jim recovered my tripod on the riverbank!

I especially like the central sycamore in the foreground, and the light through sycamore leaves - who can resist fired up backlight through wild and warm sycamore leaves.

Nice to memorialize the tripod plunge and Jim's saving grace.
