Cherry Blossom shoot

Anglers' photo shoot

Cherry Blossoms on the Tidal Basin

Cool, breezy day.  The wind played havoc with some of the blossom shots.

Cherry Blossoms and Mallard Duck April 2, 2018

Persistence.
You can see where this branch was cut off before, and the flowers are back again from the gnarly bark.

More cherry blossoms peeking out of the bark.

When I saw the duck in the hole in the tree, I dropped my tripod used automatic settings.

I had fun playing with the various shots of her when she came out of the hole.

When I saw the male, it occurred to me that they might be house hunting for a place to build a nest.

It was so cold that I left before the sun came out.   I'll need to go back for a sunny day to get blue sky and blossoms like James and to see if there is indeed a nest here.

Cherry trees 4/2/18

Most of my pics today were grey & dreary & nothing special.  Here are six I liked.  First two pics are the same only cropped differently, I couldn't decide which I liked best.  Glad the sun popped out even if it was brief. - James

Anglers Herons

Frustrated by my lens length & frozen fingers, I still reveled in all the herons at Anglers last Monday.
