I think you are lucky to have seen the tanager and especially to have managed to capture the nice image, though of course there is more than luck going on with your capture. Maybe you are a "(red) bird whisperer." I don't know that I've ever even glimpsed one, if so only a flash, that left me wondering what I had seen.
