Lock 10 Rocks.

We met early in the morning at Lock 10. It had been raining the whole night before and also lots of rain during the last few days.

The river was wild with movements and water. I felt sorry for all the trees that stood in the river with cold and wet trunks.

I heard the river fairies laughing and having fun while using the river swing, which just a few days earlier had been out of reach for them.

About 100 years ago, this was high technology. With an intelligent system of cogwheels and heavy logs, only one single person was needed to open and close the locks to open for boats. I wonder how many men that had previously been needed to open or close a lock?

 Very sturdy cogwheels....

...and a steeringwheel to control the motion. I read on a sign that the lock keepers were on duty 24 hours each day - what a life!

Disney's Animal Kingdom

I just spent this past week in Disneyworld. I didn't bring my camera out too much but thankfully I decided to bring it to the Animal Kingdom park. Here is a close look at the animals and plants seen on the safari ride and walking around the park...so cool!!
