One thing is obvious as a bit of departure - the neutral color, the beauty of greys. I encourage any pair of images exploring a similar theme as a point of departure for collecting more images. Of course this focus doesn't have to be exclusive but can be noted as one to be on the look out for to add to.
What else - emphasis on form, abstraction. These too can be ideas to build on, add to, strengthen.

And one more obvious idea here - figure / ground relationships and negative space. Lots going on in simple images.
